I am a fierce advocate for equal rights living in Upstate New York with my children and pets.  I started this business because I wanted to create products that combine my passion for human rights and social justice with my love of cute and fashionable clothing and gifts.  Our motto "Your values matter. Live them loudly. Wear them proudly." is integrated into all of our designs.

Not only am I very passionate about human rights and social justice for the sake of others (which is my primary focus), but I'm also a member of many of the communities for which I advocate. I'm a queer disabled woman with too much anxiety who can't have any caffeine. (Please, drink a coffee and think of me.)

LaLaSassafras is actually the nickname of one of my children, made up by her father in response to her sassy personality.  When I heard the name, I knew it would be perfect for the business I wanted to create.
